Planned Maintenance Safety
Inspection
- Inspection
of fan and coupling guards for corrosion and security, making
sure rotating parts have been well guarded ie no loose or missing
bolts.
- Manually
check main pump shaft for radial and axial movement. This can
indicate bearing wear and could cause mechanical seal failure.
-
Check for free rotation of pump, tightness in wear rings, bearing
failure or looseness.
Alignment of pump and motor.
-
Coupling Condition
-
Mechanical seal and flange leakage.
-
Vibration trending of all ball/roller bearings. This will indicate
condition of bearings, bad alignment and pump stress due to pipe
stress.
-
Relief valve condition and settings.
A summary/priority
chart will be issued to the Maintenance Manager along with individual
pump reports.
Commissioning
of New Plant
If new
pumping equipment is installed we can commission the equipment independently
from the main contractor.
We will:
- Make
sure there is no pipe stress, base plates are fitted correctly
and that they are adequate for the job.
-
Realign pump to motor.
-
Ensure no excessive vibration.
-
The pump has been built correctly with no leaking mechanical seals
or overheating of bearings.
All
work undertaken will come with a full report.
